How it works
Talk
One tap and Puffy listens. Say what happened, how the day felt, what will not leave your head. Sixty seconds is plenty.
It writes
Every entry is transcribed automatically within a minute, so your spoken journal becomes a written one you can search and reread.
It notices
Tag the feeling on a feelings wheel, and each week Puffy writes you an insight: what lifted you, what weighed on you, and the patterns in between.

Your voice, written down
Talking is about three times faster than typing, and it captures what writing flattens: the thing you actually meant. Puffy keeps the audio and the words, so you can replay the moment or skim the transcript.
Entries are organized by day in a timeline, with your mood next to every one. It reads like a diary that wrote itself.

Moods on a real feelings wheel
After each entry, Puffy asks how you feel: six core emotions, thirty four specific feelings. Naming the feeling is half the relief, and over weeks those tags become a map of your inner weather.

Weekly insights, written from your own words
Every week Puffy reads your entries and writes back: a short reflection, the triggers that moved your mood in either direction, and the patterns you would miss on your own. Grounded in what you actually said, never generic.
And it is private by design. Your journal syncs only to your own account, exports on demand, and deletes completely whenever you choose.

Frequently asked questions
What is an audio journal app?
An audio journal app lets you keep a diary by talking instead of typing. You record a short voice note, and a good one transcribes it, organizes it by date, and helps you see patterns over time.
Is Puffy free?
Recording, playback, and mood tracking on the feelings wheel are free, forever. Puffy Pro adds automatic transcription, weekly AI insights, search, and cloud backup for $39.99 a year (with a 7-day free trial) or $6.99 a month.
Does Puffy transcribe my voice notes automatically?
Yes. Every entry is transcribed within about a minute of saving, so you can read your journal back as text or replay the audio.
Is my audio private?
Your entries sync only to your own account, encrypted in transit, and are never shared or sold. You can export everything or delete your account, and all of its data, directly inside the app.
How long can each entry be?
Up to ten minutes per entry, which is far more than most people need. A typical voice journal entry runs one to three minutes.
Can I use Puffy on Android?
Puffy is currently an iPhone app. An Android version may come later.
What happens if I get interrupted while recording?
If a call or Siri interrupts you, Puffy pauses safely and lets you continue or stop when you are back. Your audio is never lost mid-entry.
How is this different from Voice Memos?
Voice Memos records audio and stops there. Puffy transcribes every word, asks how you felt, tags the emotion on a feelings wheel, and writes weekly AI insights about what lifts you and what weighs on you.
Does Puffy work offline?
Yes. You can record anytime, and entries sync and transcribe when you are back online.
What does Puffy do with my transcripts?
They power your own insights and nothing else. Transcription and reflections use AI processors under strict no-training terms, and your journal is never used for advertising.
